I think I have a concussion... OUCH

I slipped on the ice on Monday, and landed first on my head, and then on the small of my back. I don't have a bump on my head, but I've been feeling a little lightheaded since then.

I think my reflexes kicked in when I fell, and I pulled the muscles in my neck, shoulders and stomach when they clenched up to minimize the fall (which is probably why I landed on the small of my back and not my butt). Ouch.

I worked yesterday, but I stayed home today. If things are bad tomorrow I think I'll go to urgent care. I don't know if they can do anything for me, but I may as well get it on the record.

Yeah, I've been feeling like shit the last couple days (getting to work has been a chore). I'm okay-ish today, so I'm just going to see how I am tomorrow. I'm not as nauseous, but my back and neck are killing me :hurts:

some of those concussion signs are having one pupil dilated, headache, nausea and vomiting. I was watching one of the news magazine programs about crappy medical care on cruise ships, not long ago. A lady slipped and hit her head. Her symptoms were rather dismissed. She had a subdural hematoma that was the size of her hand from a slow bleed. Shit happens. Keep an eye on yourself!

12. I'd say "get ye to a doc..."

Years ago, I crashed my mountain bike and hit my head on a tree. When I came to, my buddies got me home (I insisted that I was OK and just needed to clean up and sleep). The next morning, I could barely stand up and I was dizzy and nauseated. My roommate ignored my threats and drug me to the ER, knowing that I had crashed on my head the afternoon prior. Not that there was much they could have done at that point, but I suppose it was the right thing to do.

17. The funny thing is, my head doesn't hurt

I don't have a bump from where I hit it on the ground. I just feel a little bit nauseous, although my back is killing me. This wouldn't be my first concussion, either-- I got one when I was about two years old and a tree fell on me in a tornado.

Eh, maybe I'll go in tomorrow morning just to be sure.

I also forgot to take my meds yesterday morning, and I wonder if that might be a contributing factor. It shouldn't be, because the ones I'm on have fairly long half-lives, but sometimes it's tough to tell.

I'm just going to take it easy today and try to get to work tomorrow. If I can't make it I'll go to the doc.
