She had such low self-esteem right then that she was basically willing to trade sex for companionship. So I think the fact that I DIDN'T want anything from her, but I liked hanging out with her was a good thing.

She and I are still good friends, despite being across the country from each other now. And she finally found someone who is attracted to her, and she's in a steady relationship now.
