How are your New Year Resolutions Going?
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 08:08 PM by Mike03
I had three resolutions; eat raw broccoli every day, get off of nicotine gum, and quit my anti depressant Celexa.

So far I have done very well with the broccoli, pretty well with the nicotine gum, but am having trouble getting off of celexa. After a day or so without it, I get these brain shocks or vaso-vagal (sp?) reactions, and they make me feel light headed and very strange. Is it somewhat normal to feel a bit strange when getting off of anti-depressants? I really very badly want to get off of them.

Anyway, I'm not deterred; I am very motivated to keep going!

How are your plans panning out? Are you sticking with your resolutions? And if you are, any tips for others to keep on track?

1. yes, getting off an anti-depressant can give you very strange side effects
Quitting cold turkey is the worst thing you can do.PLEASE talk to your doctor about quitting your meds.

7. That's one reason I'm in trouble
I got my anti depressants on line, off the internet. I don't have a doctor.

9. is there any way for you to get a doctor?
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 09:24 PM by pitohui
i've heard from several people that they had severe side effects getting off certain anti depressants and they needed to be tapered off somehow, but i don't know the details, it was something a doctor had to help them with

i was w/out health insurance for several years so i realize if you can't, you can't, but this is not an area where you can cold turkey to my limited knowledged

very worried here

my own resolutions are off to a good start, however, i didn't make any so challenging physically and mentally as this
