I just got home an hour ago (oh, it would help to know that I'm a composer who lives in England) and had two emails waiting for me from a guy in New York saying to get ahold of him ASAP about having his group perform a piece of mine on their next concert (which would be a big deal - good musically, and for my career). When I called there was no one in the office. I think I blew it just because I wasn't home - sucks.

1. If he saw promise in your work, I think it might not be the last time.

2. he's played my stuff before...
....and I think he would again, but he only does these concerts that he could put a piece of mine on once a year. I'm just grumpy about it.... I've decided to blame his new office assistant who doesn't know me (the old one did). Thanks for the encouragement though :)

4. I did....
....I'm just grumpy - it's luck I did the opposite of fucking up, but life and timing fucked up for me - doesn't that ever happen to you? I guess I've just had good luck lately, so the bad luck is more surprising.

5. Yes, life and timing can sometimes be like evil villains.
Always working against you to foil good plans.

I hope the Hero(you) wins out in the end on this one. :)
