2 cup package of Cheerios: $2.99!
It's specially packaged as a baby snack and I guess the container is supposed to be refillable but jeebus, $2.99? Baggies worked fine for my nieces.

1. I see benefit of reusable as opposed to baggies.

$2.99 is a bit much, but I'd encourage reusable when/where ever possible.

6. baggies ARE reusable.
I have baggies in my kitchen that have been washed and reused upwards of 30 times or more.

just sayin.......

Though for $2.99 it would seem an old soft butter bowl and the store brand of cheerios would work out much better.

3. I've been seeing ads on tv
for individually wrapped prunes. My store started selling individually wrapped potatoes.

I wish companies had to pay a landfill tax for their packaging.

4. Oh, gawd, the wrapped potatoes! Marketing genius. Like it's so much trouble to ...
...wrap a little saran wrap around an idaho before you nuke it.

7. nuking in plastic is supposedly BAD news.
Though the high tension electrical wires, cell phone electromagnetics, ethanol pollution etc etc will likely kill you before the toxic chemicals from nuked plastic gets you.......

5. It's a pretty impractical shape...
Smaller and flatter would be easier for the kid to access.

8. But look at those cute fishies!
And the bubbles they're blowing are Cheerios! It substitutes as an entertainment and educational device as well as a nutritional snack that will lower your kid's cholesterol! You should be thankful you're not shelling out 15 bucks for that bad boy.

9. Or those six packs of 100-calorie bags of Chex Mix - $2.69 a 3.9 oz. box,
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 01:16 AM by Rabrrrrrr
or a 15 oz. bag for $3.19. That's 65 cents an ounce versus 21 cents an ounce.

Or those mini-Pringles or snack size anything - all a total fucking ripoff. I don't why anyone buys that shit.

I'm willing to pay a bit extra for convenience for some things some times, maybe up to another 10%, but not a 300% mark up.

Not every week for shit for lunchboxes and snacks and other crap.
