We have an assload of snow today, but no snow day. Apparently, my school has not cancelled classes in at least 10 years.

My two best friends, one of whom is in a neighboring school district, and one of whom goes to a private school, get a snow day.

At least 3 quarters of the people here didn't show up. I did.

We had a bomb threat once... and you know what they did? Moved us (during lunch) to either outside or the cafeteria... and pretended to "search" my massive school for a whole friggin half hour.

Basically, if there had been an explosive, we'd kind of all be dead right now.

1. the grad school where I work is the same way
but I guess they assume that the students are either living on campus, or in student housing near campus.

2. My school is a public high school...
Where a huge number of the students (including myself) are out of district and taking public transit.

5. SF Bay Area never gets snow days.
When it snowed in the hills back in 73 I had to walk a mile and a half down the hill to catch a bus to my high school. Later that day a bunch of us drove a pick up truck up to Tilden Park shoveled the bed full of snow and brought it back to school so we could have a snow ball fight. They canceled sixth period. that day only. The teachers got creamed. closed I ever got to having a snow day. I went to a small private school.
