is it okay to respond to that person by hitting below their belt with equal fervor?

it is still easier to get forgiveness than permission.

So, if you're asking for permission, the answer is no.

If you've already done it and you're sorry, then you're forgiven.

6. Ah, ok...
My OP inquiry is in regards to something that happened when I walked in a hallway earlier this morning... And I've been fighting numerous thoughts since then.
