I hate two faced people
:(

God, it is hard to make friends when one is an adult, and moves 1800 miles away from her decades long friends.

7. Thanks.
I fucking detest shallow people.

I am cultivating a meaningful friendship with two women, and I am grateful for that. But there is this group of people whose kids were having play dates on a routine basis that my daughter and I were included in for awhile. I figured that things had stopped because of the fires and then the weather, and just found out today that they have all been still having play dates and not including my daughter and I.

13. Oh, KW, I hear you too well and I'm from here...
Like chimps mentioned below: time...I know it's painful especially when children's hearts are involved, I have never understood that and wish that I could change it. Put it never changed. Some people are of a lesser grade I guess. All my very best to you, yours & especially Sissy. I would that her heart be whole and never have to suffer such slights. Nor you by extension. Be strong. The rest will come together.

35. Kitchen Witch, my best friend moved from Portland OR to Mequon, WISCONSIN.
Edited on Sat Feb-02-08 03:38 AM by Radio_Lady
We saw her in Florida in December for a few days, but it's really hard now that she is so far away.
I only have one first cousin (female) in New Jersey and no siblings. Don't make friends very easily but I try hard to have some acquaintances through the spirituality of the Unitarian Fellowship here in Portland. I meet a lot of authors and some of them email me interesting stuff. But friends we made in Massachusetts for 30 years we never see unless we go there. Being away from family and friends is definitely difficult. I remember you moved to CA from... somewhere... not sure.

Anyway, Happy Groundhog Day. I should have been asleep hours ago and it's now 1AM.

Have a wonderful weekend.

RL

36. As painful as this is for you and your daughter
I hope you can see that they did you a favor early on. People like that would screw over their own moms if they thought it would get them what they think they need.

Many people are dishonest with themselves and it creates a whole world for them to keep being dishonest. They don't have to really dig deep to find out who they are, they take the easy way and reward themselves with stuff, and keeping up appearances is their job. (in their minds). People don't understand the beauty and value of friendship and integrity.

It's everywhere and it makes me very sad.

16. *LOL* and then, there's Lauryn Hill.
Nothing can be done against the truth
No matter how we remain in denial
Wasting time, replacing time
With each empty excuse
But that'll only last a little while
Coping with despair
Knowing you're not there
Ashamed to just admit I've been a fool
So I blame it on the Son
Run away from everyone
Hoping to escape this ridicule
Trapped in misery
Wrapped so miserably in this deception
I wear it like a skin
Dying to maintain
Oh I keep trying to explain
This heart that never loved me to begin
Oh I'm such a mess
I have no choice but to confess
That I've been desperately trying to belong
Lying to myself and everybody else
Refusing to admit my right was wrong
And then he came

Selah
And it means praise and meditation
And then he came
Selah
And it means... did you think about that?
And then he came
Selah
And it means praise and meditation
And then he came
Selah
And it means that it is received

How beautiful is fruit still in denial of its roots
My guilty heart behaves so foolishly
This treason from within that reasons with my sin
Won't be happy til it sees the death of me
Selfishly addicted to a life that I depicted
Conflicted cuz it's not reality
Oh what's left of me?
I beg you desperately-
Cause me to agree with what I know is best for me

Please save me from myself
I need you to save me from myself
Please save me from myself
So I can heal

The choices that I make
Oh have been nothing but mistakes
What a wasted use of space
Should I die before I wake?
In all of my religion
I fortified this prison
Obligated to obey the demands of bad decision

Please save me from myself
I need you to save me from myself
Please save me from myself
I need you to save me from my self so I can heal
And then he came

Selah...and it means praise and medtitation
And then he came
Selah... and it means did you think about that?
And then he came
Selah... and it means meditation
And then he came
Selah... and it means that is is received

And then he came

24. Sending you a hug, KitchenWitch. I'd send you a heart, too, but I'm early for
Valentine's Day. When does our purchase of hearts begin? I hope it's a tradition here because it was wonderful to receive those hearts.

OK. I got it. Let me the first to wish you a Happy Groundhog Day February 2nd.

We're one day closer to spring.

It's Saturday. Hope you're not working today!

Enjoy!

Lots of luv from Radio Lady Ellen in Oregon

Wish you could accompany us on our trip 2/25 - 3/14... really, really. (On edit: Oh, I see you're already THERE and are coming home. Boy, am I out of phase with YOU, KIDDO!) Great pictures, by the way, on the other thread...

I'm trying to get psyched up for Hawaii, when my heart is in maybe Scotland or England or Portland (OR.) in the rain. Why did my brain get wired this way? Honestly, I could stay home. I'll wear my coat and join my gal pal at a writer's conference on the Oregon Coast.

Cheers, and travel safely...

Have you ever read the memoir by Tara Bray Smith called "West of Then" I believe? I interviewed her two years ago and cannot forget it. It's a 2005 book and it will break your heart as you travel with this gorgeous gal into her past.

Talk about the difficulties she endured in Hawaii... Read about her here. The photo on the cover is so beautiful.

Edited on Sat Feb-02-08 03:25 AM by Radio_Lady
I read it on a plane coming home from Honolulu. I really have to see if she is still at the telephone number she gave me or whether she still has her website -- www.tarabraysmith.com She wrote another book called Betwixt in 2007, but that was young adult fiction and I don't get much of that. There is some hint on a couple of blogs that she is in Germany.

Looking at her face in the black and white photos, Tara reminds me of my daughter. My husband Al and I thought about living in Hawaii in the 1980s. I can still see him at the Honolulu airport, lying on a bench to get the last few rays of sunlight before we flew to Los Angeles and on to Boston. I had had my fill of heat, bugs, humidity, etc. from Florida.

It would have been grounds for divorce if we had moved. There were only service jobs available, even earlier. The last two husbands brought me back to Florida from the northeast, and those marriages dissolved. Anyway, I should be in bed asleep. Meeting tomorrow at the radio station on a rainy/snowy Saturday. I love the weather here! Snow is a special event in Portland, ORE.

Abraham Lincoln was accused of being two-faced. The quote attributed to him: "If I were two-faced, would I be wearing this one?"
