The hits keep coming.
All happened this week.

Close relative diagnosed with cancer.

Good friend dies, age 52. Threw me into a depressive state.

Guy who I used to be good friends throughout high school and simultaneous trade school dies at home, age 51. Obit read this morning.

No sleep in 24 hours, and counting.

No one to talk to, and I'm sitting here talking to a fucking message board.

No vibes please, too late for that, they get sick and fucking die anyway.

They just fucking die. Just like that.

6. Sorry for your pain.
When people close to you
pass away, it depresses you.
In many cases because it forces
you to face your own mortality.
Every friendship is a blessing
to be cherished, even after they
are gone. How they touched you
made you a better person in some
way, and it is, and they are,
forever a part of you.

7. Sorry for your grief. Give it time. You have way too much to process.
And don't forget to cry if you haven't already. Crying when sad is important.

9. That is way to much
to process. I would seek medical help for lack of sleep. It will make a tough situation much worse.

Bounce a PM my way if you need help finding a resource in your area.

Depression is serious and is as real as any trauma injury. Most General Practitioners are not set up to help, they can recommend someone who can help you with what is going on.

Do take it seriously.

10. What's bothering me the most...
I am 49. I act like a kid because I like it that way, and it keeps me young.

My friends are the same as me...we act like idiots but are serious when we need to be.

I view my friends now as I viewed them when I was a teenager. We are YOUNG!

How can we die at this age?

How can anyone die in their 20's, 30's 40's, 50's, 60's, teen years....or as a child?

Old people are supposed to die...not us.

When you first hear, as you know, the first reaction is... :wtf:. Unbelievable.

36. I know, Honey. I'm 53 and like you I can hardly believe I have so many decades behind me.
But we're still babies, right? How can we be losing our contemporaries, our friends who walked the long road with us--how can it be they've taken their last step and we have to continue without them?

And anyone who thinks it gets easier at our age is a fucking idiot!

Time, that cruel master of us all, who has been your worst enemy, is now your only friend. See, you don't have to deal with anything, Time just takes you along in its tide, and you just keep your head above it. The pain never goes away, but Time diminishes it, whether we want it or not.

But before that happens, please accept my deepest sympathies. And even though we're just a "fucking message board", don't forget there are humans behind these computers, and we want to offer comfort. Take care, Phill.

Anja, alias Pink-O

11. I count you as one of the finest DUers, if that matters.
The ability to communicate in analogy is a sign of great perception and intelligence.

Great perception and intelligence also make for a life experience where one may take in more of the negative than one wishes. It's possible to deal with that, and as always, I wish you the best.

28. Aw, Jeez..
I've had days like that. Not often, thank the gods, but I've been there. Lost good friends, family members and hopes.

Just keep breathing and remember no one gets out of here alive, so make the most of each moment. That probably doesn't help right now, but it might eventually.

And here's a virtual hug.

32. It's difficult enough when these come at you over time...
but it's too much to handle when they all happen within a short amount of time like this. Please do what you can to take care of yourself right now. Treat yourself the way that you'd treat a friend if he or she were going through such a traumatic time.

I'd send you every word and note of that song if it could help.
