9. They didn't think much would come of the AFL-NFL World Championship Game
It was thought of by most people as just an exhibition, so neither NBC nor CBS saved the tapes.

Tickets were $12, yet it wasn't close to a sellout — attendance was 61,946, and the LA Coliseum seats about 93,000.

A 30-second commercial cost $42,000.

10. I knew it wasn't a sell out . .
So they didn't save them.. I thought it was because they lost them . . either or .. still interesting.

13. Teevee stations and networks didn't save tape very often
The two-inch Quad tape used then was expensive, so unless something of certain historical value was on it, like a World Series, they wiped tapes and re-used them.

In 1967, nobody thought there'd be XLII Super Bowls. Hell, the first one wasn't even called Super Bowl I, since "I" implies there'll be a II, etc.

14. Cool
So it's the "Lost" superbowl then . . .

I have a semi-fasination about T.V Episodes, Sporting events, and wrestling matches that are lost due to being taped over, tapes destroyed, or simply just not taped period. .. .

5. The First superbowl I ever watched invovled the skins . .
Skins/Bills . . I remember watching it on the small kitchen T.V . . . also the first football game I can ever remember watching.

Surprsingly it didn't turn me into either a Skins or Bills fan.
