Honestly, I don't mind threads like that, whether or not I get "chosen". Its not like they are saying "you CAN'T" join or I think poster A,B,C sucks eggs. Mind you, I do understand the feeling of being left out. I was left out of a lot of groups in junior high and high school. And I definitely have "friends" in the Lounge that I love joshing around with, even if its not everyone's sense of humor. I've been really stressed out and coming here and being silly (yes I would say jr high school is accurate to describe it) but its fun and I find it a way to thank some people who have been most kind to me, and have helped me decompress, something very important to me at the moment.
But I do understand why one might feel as you do. Me, I tend to pretty much like everyone in the Lounge....

You are really not doing yourself any favors to try to insult others here who say that such exclusionary threads really don't have a place on a public forum like this. That's why you have your MySpace page - to invite your friends or exclude them... however you want.

The sad thing is that you cannot gracefully admit that the thread did make others feel excluded, no matter what your intent. CA Peggy basically told you this. I don't understand why you cannot be kind about such things to others.

There are doofy little "popularity" threads that go one here. I feel more sympathy toward the people who are bothered by them than for those who do them.

I participated in that thread because I would actually love to meet these people in real life.
I have been here for a few years now and I have gotten to know a few a people and have formed friendships.
I don't think I have seen your screen name before.
So let me say hello and It is nice to know of you.
Saying all of that I imagine it does alienate a few people here and there.
I was mentioned a few times in this one but trust me there are many that I haven't been mentioned in.
And there are several other Duers I didn't mention in that thread..It doesn't mean I don't want to meet them.
There are a ton of great people here and sometimes it takes a little time and pushiness to get in and become familiar to people.
And one last point.
Just because someone post a gazillion threads a day doesn't mean they are cool or even popular..
It just means they are noisier than others.
