1. My hubby should be on there somewhere.
He has a male patient who won't leave him alone and keeps trying to get our home phone and addy. He comes in to see Hubby at least once a week, brings him presents, tries to get more time with him. Hubby tries to be nice and stick to the medicine (the guy does have some big health issues), but he gets annoyed more than a little at times and has to firmly remind this guy that, no, he cannot babysit for us, and no, he doesn't need to bring gifts. Ugh.

3. That's unfortunate.
Can he ask him to find another care provider? I don't think anybody would expect a female physician to put up with that from a male client, and I don't really see how the situation is really any different with the sex roles all flipped about.

5. Not really. He doesn't want to foist him off on the PA there.
Hubby's one of the only MDs who covers that satellite office, so he's the one who gets him. Ugh.

10. Very.
Now, the church people call us at home, but we're fine with that. They're extended family, and they only do it if there's a real reason for it. If this guy got our home number, I'd change it.

13. Internist. Yeah, it's pretty common.
He's cool with it up to a point. As soon as it comes close to crossing the line, he tells people to see their doctor or come in and see him.

I should work for the state tourism office, I tells ya. I won't go on and on about how cheap living is here, how people are nice, or how we have a great arts community. I'll just post some of my fave pics from the last year. ;)
What it looks like outside today:

Our fantastic Dem governor almost bowled over by my son over a year ago at a campaign stop:

The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island (best trip of my life!):

Cranes at our raspberry patch last summer:

Hamblin Lake by Ludington--separated from Lake Michigan by a huge sand dune:

Edited because I hit the freakin' wrong button. *sigh*

Governor Granholm: I'd support that Constitutional Amendment in a heartbeat.

Beautiful pics!

Now I have to kick my partner's butt, to upload the latest he took from here (Virginia) and from where I grew up (West Virginia). Some are http://patrickj.smugmug.com/">here. SmugMug.com is a pretty cool way to upload and share with family/friends. You can even password protect.

23. Those beach pictures are amazing!
He has a great eye for clouds. You both should come up here for a summer visit to see the clouds on Lake Michigan. :)

Here's my favorite professional photographer (we have a few of his prints): http://www.toddandbradreed.com/ I love his lighthouse pictures. My stepmom's family used to have their annual reunion at her cousin's house by Little Sable lighthouse. I wasn't considered family, so I'd wander off through the dunes by myself all day, go dune jumping, wade in the lake a bit, and just sit and stare at the lighthouse. The Ludington/Pentwater area is a magic place for me--very healing.

26. Really? We'd love to visit!!!
"He has a great eye for clouds."

I keep urging him to upload his more recent stuff. He's gotten quite good, as he's learned how to control his camera, and make it capture what his eye sees.

Oh, wow. LOVE those. Check out http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=105&topic_id=7429495&mesg_id=7429495">these.

Patrick is a beach guy. He lets down his buzz-cut within 20 minutes at the beach.

He took those pictures for me. I was too sick to go that day, so he went with my mom and stepdad. My mom is like him (she prefers to be behind the camera), and they've got some fun ones of each other.

So, he came back with a photo-tour for me to look at on the laptop, which is why he took so many of the signs explaining the exhibits.

He is amazing.

We would LOVE to spend time with you at healing waters.

28. Just let me know! I'll always try to show people around my state.
Oh, and here's our favorite new rental. It's in downtown Ludington, so it's not on the beach, but it's only a few blocks from there and everything else. We're taking it over for a family reunion Memorial Day weekend with Hubby's brother's family, my mom and her hubby, the in-laws, and whoever else shows up. :) Ludington's just a couple hours north of Grand Rapids, and their airport has non-stop flights to tons of places and still is small and easy to get in and out of.
http://www.hideaway-ludington.com/

Then again, we've never stayed in a bad rental. Michigan rentals are cheap and plentiful, and we prefer those since then we have a kitchen for our own cooking. Most of us Michiganders believe in cheap travel here, so we have great campgrounds, cabins, and more, though we also have the Grand Hotel (worth every penny, that place--amazing food, great staff, like being a prince and princess in a castle :) ) for more refined tastes. ;)

I really like that artist. I'd say your guy could totally sell prints and calendars, though. His cloud shots (which are difficult to do) are just stunning. If you come, make sure he brings the camera and loads of film. :)
