My friend would have been 48 yesterday if she hadn't been kidnapped
and presumably murdered 17 years ago since she has never been seen again. I wish I could have HER over for dinner because that would mean she's alive.

Happy Birthday, Paige. I miss you. I would've posted this yesterday but I was out of town.

4. Thank you
I was traveling with my parents yesterday and their oldies station played the Batman theme from the old TV show. Paige loved Batman. I'm sure it was for her.

5. Keeping her memory alive is a wonderful tribute to Paige
I wish there was no need to and the two of you could have celebrated...

9. You will!
Like the time my hat fell off at Communion when we were eight and she said "I think you can go to Hell for that." Or the first words out of her mouth when I met her were "I have a boyfriend, do you?" We were five; summer before kindergarten. Or when we were writing letters to the Monkees and she wrote to Mike and said "Dear Mike, I love you," her mother said "You can't send that!" and Paige said "Why not; it's what I said to Daniel Boone!" Fess Parker; her big love.

I have a million.

11. I think I remember a teacher disappearing from her still-running car on I-96.
The media jumped all over it, to no avail.

Paige Renkowski (sp?)?

12. Yep, that's Paige
Paige Renkoski (the media butchers it as Renkowski every year). Disappeared May 24, 1990. Her car was found running on the shoulder of the expressway, her purse and shoes were inside.

To this day, I have to believe she knew who waived her over (there was nothing wrong with her car). Paige's father was a state cop; she wouldn't have pulled over for someone she didn't know especially since she was in sight of an exit she knew.

15. Local media has revisited the case a number of times.
Kinda like the Oakland child murders.

I seem to recall a local TV news story about your friend in the last year or so.

Just from memory, her car was found somewhere around Fowlerville.

I'm sorry about your missing friend.

17. They never come up with anything new
They just bring the case up every May because it's sweeps month, it's sensational, and she was pretty, blonde, and blue eyed.

I stay in close touch with her mother and there haven't been any leads in years although the case remains open. It was someone she knew; I think we are all convinced of that.

13. Paige is often in my thoughts now, because of you...
It just doesn't seem like that long ago.

I know it is stupid and silly but I have added her the list of names that I recite each morning, so that they will never be forgotten.

Happy Birthday Paige.

She deserves to be remembered. Just as Leonard does. They both left us too soon.

19. Happy Birthday, Paige.
And, to Lisa Dickinson, who went to a park in my hometown when she was 9 and was never seen again ... After more than 30 years, I still remember you, and I think of you.
