In Boston, fans were expecting their victorious Patriots to be bringing trophies home after pillaging New York City. New England leaders hoped for a fresh injection into their economy of looted capital and captured slaves from the defeated Empire State. Instead, entrenched New York defenses relying on heavy artillery limited early gains by New England. With the battlefield death of General Brady, the Giants counter-attacked and pushed the demoralized Patriots back to Vermont. Since then the outnumbered New Englanders have been fighting a delaying action while they continue to take casualties and as ammunition runs low. A brief rally in the Boston suburbs in New Hampshire by New England forces briefly took back the initiative with air strikes, but this was short lived. New York simply regrouped, plunging into the City of Boston at the end of the conflict. Now, New Englanders huddle in fear as Giants sack Boston and the surrounding areas. Already their are reports of slave raids as far south as Providence. Once confident of victory, the conquered New England states brace for a harsh occupation and an eventual disappearance from history.
