1. Pretty, pretty lady!!! I'm still waiting for my new ones to come in.
Hopefully this week. I am straining my eyes quite a bit and I feel it.

2. nice
good to see the "progressive" lenses are nice and clear.....as opposed to the rose-colored "conservative" lenses. :D

4. Cool specs!!!
Progressive lenses can take some getting used to, but it sure is nice when you can actually see, isn't it?

:bounce:

5. Love your tee shirt!
I just dropped off my frames to get new lenses, so right now I'm sitting inches away from the monitor with my reading glasses!

LOVE progressive lenses! First time? Takes a little while to get used to them.

6. you look great
but I suppose there should be a concern if you can't see.

progressive lenses take some getting used to, but you should have the hang of it in a couple of days.

8. What are progressive lenses?
Edited on Tue Feb-05-08 03:18 PM by 1gobluedem
I never heard of them. I am due for an eye appt. soon; just wondering if it's something I should bring up.

I hope I look as good in my new glasses as you do in yours.

Edited for punctuation.

10. Thanks
I wore bifocals as a kid; didn't need them between 18 and 47 but I fear I may again. I find I'm pushing my glasses down when I read now.

16. Sorta like bifocals
but the prescription "progresses" from distance to reading, instead of having a line.

They are "interesting" to get used to. Expect vertigo, stumbling, basically feeling awkward for a while. Tables can appear unlevel.

I'm starting to get the hang of mine. But if I was going to do it again, I'd just get bifocals. They're easier for me.

I don't think they improved my looks any. Sow's ear, silk purse, that sort of thing.

You look great & I also love your tee-shirt. Isn't it wonderful to be able to see again? I haven't been able to see much in 6 months. My new glasses will be ready in a couple of DAYS! I've been using a pair wherein BOTH pins slipped out & I had to fix them with jewelry wire.

12. ha, you sound just like me, my sunglasses finally just broke as well.
i should have gotten progressives last time out but i just didn't want to, but now i can actually read small print without squinting or having to move it either really close or really far away.

14. Looking good, crs! And I mean that in both ways.
My progressives (such a great term for them, too!) are the best - since my distance vision is still 20/20 I've got essentially plain glass up top and 2.00 readers at the bottom (that number gets larger every year  ).

Anyway, that way I don't have to take reading glasses on and off all the time.

Congrats! :toast:
