7. VFW in Durand does Friday Fish.
They buy FRESH whitefish and use a batter recipe that a Korea War Vet cooked up about 30 years ago, and cole slaw from SCRATCH. They fall down on the fries though: frozen shoestrings but hey, nobody's perfect.

YUM.

10. I don't eat them the rest of the year!
If I indulged my urges, I would LIVE at the local home made donut shop, with breaks to the local diner famous for fish and chips.

AND I would weigh much more than I do: 5'8" ectomorphs should not weigh close to 200 pounds.

19. THEY get hooked on that wine

they get hooked on that wine for communion. just joshing !
lent is easy compared to my youth. my parents made the choice of things to give up.one was to not use my bicycle for my paper route. DAD wanted me to know how it was to be to poor to own one.(even though I bought mine from tips and paper route money)
to this day I hate fish!

17. Watch your insulin and cholesterol levels
I'm not supposed to have those things anyway so I don't feel the burn as much...or it's twice as bad...depends on my mood.
