A foot tonight, a foot tomorrow.... Are you f'ing kidding me?
A foot tonight, a foot tomorrow...that's what they just said on the news. I am SO not down with that. I looked up the weather online and sure enough:

TONIGHT

WINDY. SNOW AND RAIN. SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 7 TO 14 INCHES. SNOW LEVEL 2000 FEET. SOUTHWEST WIND IN THE PASSES 20 TO 30 MPH.

THURSDAY

WINDY...SHOWERS. SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 6 TO 12 INCHES. SNOW LEVEL 2500 FEET. AFTERNOON PASS TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 30S. WEST WIND IN THE PASSES 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 50 MPH.

THURSDAY NIGHT

WINDY...SHOWERS. SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 5 TO 10 INCHES. SNOW LEVEL 2000 FEET. WEST WIND IN THE PASSES 20 TO 30 MPH.

Ummmmm..... 3 feet, between now and tomorrow night? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo......

3. I do - and I also recently quit smoking, so I don't have THAT to worry about!
Good god - I was hoping to turn up my camera battery charger last weekend so I can document this craziness - but I haven't found it yet. My (high!) bedroom window is COMPLETELY obscured by snow, and the picture window in my office has snow halfway up it. My fence is not visible. And there are the BIGGEST snowflakes you've ever seen coming down heavily at the moment.

SUMMER. Is it SUMMER yet?

10. I hear you on that one!
As a native Michigander I am pretty familiar with freezing rain.

 to YOU on not smoking! I'm just waiting to see how long I hold out this time. ;)

Wait until it gets nicer. Then someone might be able to travel up there and help out. :D

14. No kidding ...
BTW -Othello had a major seizure a little bit ago.... :( He went all rigid and completely stopped moving/breathing - I thought he was dead. He's SO thin and bony that I actually cried laying in bed last weekend while petting him. We don't have long, I don't think. :(

4. :(
I'll be wishing you well.

And I thought we had it bad, We're buried here and I have only 2 wheel drive. :(

A wise woman in the WI forum said "I'll take this over flooding, tornado, hurricane, mud slides, earthquake. This does not enter my house, nor does it destroy my house. It is a hassle, and we're tired of it, but I haven't lost any possessions or cars or my home!"

Take care!

7. LOL - Thanks.
I'm REALLY lucky though - only 2.5 miles from work, boss lives a block away and can get me if I can't get dug out in the morning. I've got heat, and plenty of food - no need to go anywhere. But DAYUM.

My boss said today that the pass (the mountain pass between here and Seattle) is only 2 feet away from the snowfall world record? That doesn't sound right to me, but that's what he said!

There's a lot worse things than massive amounts of snow, that's for sure.

11. It is!
I just went to Seattle w/ my boss yesterday - we are putting a router in over there. Anyway - it's SO funny to leave here where there's FEET of snow and go there where there's NONE.

16. Hey Madrone!
:hi:

So, are you expected to go to work in that stuff???

Personally, I'd like to see some snow here. It's a weird warm winter here and 7 people died in a tornado about 20 miles away from me last night. Two died in a tornado last week only a few miles away and I was driving in it. Scared as I've ever been. Branches, hail and who knows what kind of shit hitting my car, car blowing all over the road.

This weather is crazy!! Good luck to ya and go sledding for me. :)

19. I AM.
Snow / being unable to get out is no excuse for not going into work. If one truly cannot get out, someone (from work) will be along directly to get you and /or dig you out. Series!!!11! Small town mountain livin'! Shit - there were a couple of times last year that the power to the area went out. We STILL went to work.

You must be in southern IN? I'm from Kalamazoo, and I know southern MI has been getting their fair share of weather and snow.

I'll gladly take feet of snow over tornadoes though.
