Why we guys (and gals) Love Rachael Ray...

1 - She's unpretentious. Everything is about budget cooking, easy cooking - not the kind of lifestyle BBC's "Posh Nosh" makes fun of, but great food you can make from scraps and stuff. Even her use of EVOO brings a staple of the foodie culture down to earth.

2 - She's drop dead gorgeous. Matcom, I know you're here with me somewhere. Most women on TV average size 0-2. Fuck that. No, no just FUCK THAT. Many of us here think beauty in women starts somewhere along size 6 and continues for quite a while. I like size 8 personally. And that smile, those curvy legs....OK I'll stop now.

3 - Her Yankee-girl accent drives us West Coast guys (and gals) wild. Something about those upper NY yankee girl accents - just something...

I'm sure some of you can think of other reasons....

6. Her cheap travel show really turned me off.

Her cheerfulness was obviously fake and forced in so many of those show.

"Here I am spending only $8.49 for this 'Delish' meal. MMM mmm." And you could tell that the moment she was off camera she was going to some high end restaurant for real food.

I understand the PR value of convincing people that they can travel cheaply, but then people are inevitably going to go overbudget and start using their credit cards.

That show seems like it was designed by a PR firm to boost the travel industry dishonestly.

Television, including the news and programming, is one big advertisement for consumption. You and I just don't notice as much because we're used to it and can see through it.

And Tasty Travels. I've gotten a lot of good travel ideas from them and I've been pleased to note that she's visited many of the restaurants that I've been to on my travels.

It's Giada's Weekend Getaways that get me. Money is obviously no object to her and she picks out some really weird food combinations, at least in my opinion. Plus I'm not a huge chocolate lover and Giada can't get through one show without some huge chocolate something.
