I got good news at the doctors today. The lump I found in my arm has been diagnosed as a cyst. Whether or not it is the cause of the pain in my arm remains to be determined. So I'll be undergoing an EMG to determine if there is nerve damage (carpal tunnel) in my wrists, or in my neck.

If that test turns out ok, I may need to have the cyst removed.

There is absolutely no concern (by my doc) that this is anything serious.

So, thanks for the vibes, folks.

It seems like almost everyone develops cysts somewhere as they get older, and they're almost always nothing serious.
