Has anyone read _Angry Housewives Eating Bon-bons_?
Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 04:10 PM by mycritters2
My book group is reading it tonight, and it looked so un-interesting that I haven't even bought it or checked it out. I looked at it in a bookstore, and just knew it wouldn't hold my interest. Right now, I'm reading two books on strategic planning for work, one book on Girardian stuff, and doing a dvd course for continuing ed. If my book club isn't going to choose interesting books, I'm not going to read what they do choose.

I've read two synopses online, so won't look completely stupid. But, if anyone asks, I am going to say it just didn't look interesting, so I didn't read it. Maybe they'll pick something interesting next time. The last book we read that I enjoyed was _The Plot Against America_ by Philip Roth. But I was the only one who liked it. I don't think I'm a good match for this book club.

2. I have read it and I liked it.
I think you might be right about needing a new book club. Do they mix it up with all kinds or have you found that you don't like most of what is chosen?

5. My dear mycritters2!
A very good friend of mine who reads voraciously read this, and recommended it to me...

I haven't read it yet...

Not sure I'm going to...though his recommendations usually fit me well!

:hi:

6. How did you join your book group?
I wonder if your local craigslist.org would be a good place to look for a different one.

7. It's organized through my church. I'm expected to be there.
But I've pretty much stopped reading the books.

8. That would explain a lot.
No matter how "cool" your church is, nobody's going to come up with any wild books.
