13. Well, That's Kind Of A Double Edged Sword Really.

I happen to be blessed with this mental strength that most people don't have. It's my forte actually. But what that does sometimes is give people around me the false perception that I'm doing better than I am. What I mean by that, is that they get a sense of "he's doing so great! He doesn't need our help!" and then I find myself alone and on my own with everything. But what I've started saying to people close to me, is to please realize that just because someone is mentally strong enough to carry on, and strong enough to rise above anything and everything that may ever come their way, doesn't mean they don't feel the pain, hurt and hardship every single bit as much or more than someone else who doesn't have that level of strength.

Unfortunately though, people are all about perception, and since I'm strong enough of a person to put forth the image that I'm doing perfectly, it's kind of hard to get them to think otherwise.

But at the end of the day that strength is also a blessing. I've needed every ounce of it through this and couldn't imagine how I'd be able to present a good enough image to my kids if I didn't have it.

I am hangin in there though, and the kids are literally doing AWESOME, so I'm damn proud to be able to say that. :)

I'm proud to say that the kids are doing great. They're growing up more each day and are two of the most charming and hilarious kids I've ever seen. They put me through my paces for sure, but my God do they crack me up. But every night when I put them to bed and feel their love for me, and see that they're happy, healthy, well adjusted, and developing normally, it just makes me beam out with hope and pride. After everything happened, I really wasn't sure how they'd be. How bad it would be. But now I have no doubt they'll be ok. That means the world to me.
