The Fellowship Of The Ring was an entwife (so close and yet so far).

Now I know that Tolkien himselfs indicates otherwise here: http://www.daimi.au.dk/~bouvin/tolkien/entwives.html but frankly I think that the old man was full of shit or at least senile and thought they were asking about female wyrms...
