I have a question about strippers in strip clubs. More importantly
about the stage that they roll around in where the poles are. (This is a real question that I have wondered about for years.)

Anyway I am watching G-String Divas on HBO and the place is pretty packed and the girls are beautiful but it creeps me out when they roll around on the stage because they are wearing the shoes that they have been walking around the club with. My memories of walking around bars is my shoes got filthy. Then again I had a drinking problem so....I don't know.

Anyway, does someone go up to the stage several times a night and wipe it off or do the dancers wipe off their shoes before going on the stage? This is an upscale club. I'm just curious. I would not roll around on my kitchen floor right now.

1. Since I'm a stripper, I will answer your question.

First, it depends on the club. More upscale clubs do wipe off the stage several times during the night, but more for the opposite reason: of the girls that roll around onstage, invariably one of them will have some sort of oil, or oily lotion on, and that makes it very dangerous to try and move in the heels on stage if you go up after her. Even more so for me personally, because onstage I wear the old-fashioned pump-style shoe with five inch heels and pointy toes, not the open-toed platforms you see most girls wear. Those are my 'stage shoes', and I wear the platforms (which are actually more comfortable) on the floor.
But, the sanitary-ness of the shoes from the floor being on the stage and then one's skin being in contact with same said stage - that's never really the reason for the cleaning.
Honestly, it doesn't usually present that much of a problem. The money we get is actually a lot dirtier than the stage ever is, most times. Many of us carry small cans of Lysol in our lockers/bags or the housemom has some for us to use on our money and etc.
A smart entertainer keeps her shoes as clean as she can, anyways..presentation counts.

BTW - on the stripper board I am a member of, G-String Divas is a joke. We can't stand that show. Not very representative of what many of us do. I've NEVER gotten that close to a customer's lap, in the 13 years of dancing that I did.

Second Edit: I also do not do very much floorwork at all, if any. When I do, it is limited to just a few seconds of contact with the stage. I don't think it's classy, but I am an old-fashioned topless dancer, trained in the early 90's "Dollhouse" style. Many girls don't agree with me.

4. Well, it 's a refuge for us from the crazies..
and a good resource and networking place. I am very glad it is there - I feel comfortable. Customers are kept to a minimum, so that we may feel more at ease. It's "our" place.

5. It's a great idea.
I think what you do is a tough job. I sure as hell couldn't do it. Good to have a networking/kinship/letting-off-steam kind of place where you're comfortable to talk openly.

Still hawt though.

6. always wondered about the shoes
why dancers wear such high heels or platforms - they can't always be that easy to dance in...

I've never seen g-string divas, but back in the day, i went to a few supposedly decent strip joints and have gotten lap dances that were little more than the girl grinding her butt into my lap in time with the song.

7. Thanks for the answer, it's very interesting. I have wondered why
G-String Divas has the same girls working in the same club and the same guys sitting in the same seats for the past several years!
