1. Hey, Supernova! The same damn thing happened here today too.
:( The wind knocked out a substation, and we didn't have power for about five hours. It just came back on about 30 minutes ago. I hope you get yours back sooner than the estimated time!

Give Chapel Hill a big hug for me! :D

2. Thanks NWC
It's really spotty, but on the way over here, I noticed some houses had power, others didn't.

Glad yours came back on. Which utility do you have?

3. It's an independent city-owned utility co.
:hi: Half the city was without power earlier, and I was in the unlucky half. Check your PM. :)

18. It's weird when that happens
We had a few days when it was very sunny and springlike, and now we're back to bitter cold. Yuck. :P

Nasty, innit? Wind is howling through all the gaps in our old and drafty casa. Never seen so many windstorms in one year around these parts...

Nasty stuff, whiteouts. I'm with you on the spring thing. Even though this winter wasn't too vicious, I'm ready for it to be over. :hi:

19. Did you hear about the 36-car pile up on 390?
http://www.democratandchronicle.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080210/NEWS01/80210007

I didn't know until I talked to my mom in Rhode Island! It made their news.

Scary stuff.

23. Mr. MG wasn't too thrilled--just got back from a business trip
to FLORIDA. He experienced a drop of 70 degrees within a couple of hours.

Of course my mom was plotzing about the accident, as he drives home from the airport that way. He drove on it about an hour ago and said that part of 390 near Scottsville exit was still slick.
:scared:

30. Thanks, been a rough couple of months
was in hospital for 10 days with pneumonia, my mom passed away, couldn't get out there as I was in the hospital, had bought a plane ticket, on united, and they wont refund my $$.
Big of um.
That was just before Christmas, and my 10 year olds B-Day...so we have been playing catch-up on our bills.
My clutch went out on my car, that took money we didn't have.
AND this is a slow time of year for truck drivers...

I'm trying to keep a smile, but it's hard to, now.
Oh, and I lost my star, and don't even have any extra to donate this time...sigh, like I said, I wish it wasn't so hard, sometimes.

13. Earlier today, it went from sunny to white-out to sunny in 15 minutes
The wind here is horrible. Haruka got hit in the neck with our outside thermometer earlier. It flew off the wall, when she was outside smoking. She's fine, and that's what she gets for smoking.

22. Only about half an inch
We've had snow showers all day. All the current snow on the ground fell during that 5-minute white out.

It snowed this morning, too, but it melted pretty fast. It was another random blizzard-like outburst this morning. I was sitting at home laughing about it. Haruka was off in a field trying to herd sheep with the dog. They had a bad herding lesson this morning. It snowed, which distracts the dog, and she got run over by a ram, but she's okay.

27. ****UPDATE****
I came home after Caribou Coffee closed just on the off chance, and yes!!

The LIGHTS ARE BACK ON!!!

I was dreading having to spend the night in a hotel, because it's just a little too cold to spend the night without heat.

:grouphug: Thanks for being such great company, like you all always are. :D ;-)
