Why is McCain bald?

That's kinda freaking me out.

:scared:

On edit: I mean, why is the McCain fundraiser head bald?

He's not in real life...

1. A lack of hair may be the primary cause
But I am not a doctor or a Rogaine representative. So what do I actually know about it?

3. Hahahahaha
I meant specifically...why is the McCain fund drive head bald. I know he doesn't have much hair in real life, but the DU McCain looks like Mr. Clean.

2. To make himself look younger?
Honestly, why are there so many bald or severely balding younger men in the past decade or so?

4. I'm not sure...
hormones in the meat? Lead in the water? Could be any number of environmental causes.

My brother-in-law stared going bald when he was in his early 20s. He shaves it now. Thankfully, he's got a normally shaped head!

5. You may have something there; I have also considered those possible reasons
Edited on Sun Feb-10-08 11:25 PM by mitchum
From a really young age, I feared going bald...because I'm incredibly vain. So, I used to always keep track of when "grown up men" started to do so. And it really does seem that in the past 10 -15 years there is just an epidemic of severely balding men younger than 30.
Thankfully, I did keep my hair; because, unlike your brother-in-law, I don't have a normally shaped head!

edit: typo

6. As you get older, the same age groups look younger
Notice? That might be part of the explanation.

7. Not in this case...
as I said, I really did not want to go bald, so I started actively observing when I was about 12 or so so and could tell if a man was in his 20, 30s, 40s, 50s, etc...

I dodged that bullet and am so glad I didn't have to go to my fall back plan. And what was that? To shave the remaining hair off and grow the mustache and goatee rig like "that Anton LeVay guy"
Apparently, that was every guy's fall back plan.

10. can't be a coincidence that sperm counts have been dropping during the same time period
Plus girls are going through menarche much earlier than in previous generations. There are synthetic estrogens in so many products (plus the hormones and stuff given to animals) that my nonscientist brain thinks there has to be a correlation here.

11. Bald guy at my old job...
Entire body covered with a thick mat of hair, big bushy moustache... but hit hard by male-pattern baldness in his 20's.

he had a good sense of humor, though. It was his joke! :-)
