Feeling Jefferson Airplane...

dunno why, just been these two songs going through my head today...

:D
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Q1cfTMdjkYM
White Rabbit - Jefferson Airplane
One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall

And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall
Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Recall Alice
When she was just small

When men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice
I think she'll know

When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the door knob said:
"FEED YOUR HEAD
_______________
FEED your head"

SOMEBODY TO LOVE
JEFFERSON AIRPLANE
1967

When the truth is found to be lies
And all the joy within you dies
Don't you want somebody to love
Don't you need somebody to love
Wouldn't you love somebody to love
You better find somebody to love, love

When the garden flowers baby are dead, yes
And your mind, your mind is so full of red
Don't you want somebody to love
Don't you need somebody to love
Wouldn't you love somebody to love
You better find somebody to love

Your eyes, I say your eyes may look like his
Yeah, but in your head baby
I'm afraid you don't know where it is
Don't you want somebody to love
Don't you need somebody to love
Wouldn't you love somebody to love
You better find somebody to love

Tears are running, ah running down your breast
And your friends baby, they treat you like a guest
Don't you want somebody to love
Don't you need somebody to love
Wouldn't you love somebody to love
You better find somebody to love

1. Today.....
I'm so full of love
I could burst apart
and start to cry....

One of my all time favorite lines ever in a rock song.

2. We lived in a house we called the Airplane back in college.
The house was on Jefferson street and 2 of my roommates drove white VW rabbits.

5. Nope. Just me and a rock-n-roll band.
You might've liked the band Benny, they played a ferocious brand of RnR but were influenced by the Dead. They covered "Franklin's Tower" and I must say it was a killer version. The only other cover they played was "Take the Skinheads Bowling" for a bit of fun.

:hi: To SPK and Benny!

One of my favorite bands ever. Listen to them constantly.

11. Both from the same great album.
I love Surrealistic Pillow and Baxter's, but I bought a CD of Crown Of Creation a few years ago and was terribly disappointed in it. I used to listen to all these albums at college in the 60s and 70s and I remember falling asleep pretty often during Crown, and now I know why.

12. Hey, Dick!
Get out of our way. Because we're not the way you used to be, when you were very young.
We're something new......

I sure wish music worked like that now.

Meanwhile, Have You See The Saucers?
