Sure, the guy is loopier than a box of fruit loops but let's face it - 'Thriller' is probably one of the greatest albums of our generation, I just wasn't willing to buy into the hype back in 1983.

But I still think the Police's "Syncrhonicity" was robbed of the Grammy.

1. The hype back in '83/'84 over 'Thiller' killed it for good
It was incessant.

'Thriller' is a great record no doubt but Michael Jackson helped drive up the cost of seeing live music and for that he will never be forgiven.

Christ, the media is going shove him down our throats again - leave us alone.

2. I agree - fantastic album. And you all know how much I hate pop music,
but Jackson (as well as Prince and Madonna) brought/bring true artistry and musicality to the pop genre, and create real music - not "music", like Brittney or Celine or Winehouse - that's actually listenable and enjoyable on a number of levels.

Thriller is a hell of a good album, and it's brilliance makes Jackson's plummet into insanity even that much more sad, thinking of what he could have done.

8. I think Winehouse is decent.
Not great but certainly more talented than Britney Spears or Celine Dion.

3. The new version of Thriller just came out, remastered again and with remixes.
The remixes suck, though.
