Hetero Privilege #6969: the Short-Term Coma List doesn't require extra legal docs.
Edited on Fri Feb-15-08 12:19 PM by CorpGovActivist
Oh, yes. I've got a list of things to do to http://patrickj.smugmug.com/gallery/14358_yFfRV#492743">Patrick the Pink Princess, should he ever be in a short-term coma.

Legally married couples don't have to file a whole slew of extra legal documents to be at their loved one's bedside during such times. Even if you've only been married one measly day, you enjoy Hetero Privilege #6969: the Short-Term Coma List doesn't require extra legal docs.

My list includes, but is not limited to:

* Paint his fingernails and toenails the most garish color I can find, with one Press-On Nail done up with glitter and other goodies (probably on his little toe).

* Let his hair grow out past "regulation," and maybe put some colored extensions in.

* Play The Beatles, and watch for changes in brain activity, suggesting it's pissing him off in the coma, too.

* Give him a daily wet willy.

* Doll him up all pretty, like Tammy Faye, and take pictures.

* Doll him up like the Witch Doctor, and take pictures.

* Play hospital gown puppet theater, with a daily climax to each scene.

* Shave little hearts in his chest hair.

* Etc.

Really. It's stuff like this that so many take for granted.

; )

1. CGA, may our descendants laugh hysterically at the foolishness of our society.
I hope it comes much sooner than that...like next monday would be good.

2. Next Monday works for me, too.
Have your descendants book time with mine, to share a belly laugh.

At least they'll be able to see that we had a sense of humor about the absurdity of it all, in the moment, ourselves.

4. Ever heard of a "Tontine?"
It's where a group, preferably of friends, get together over some object like gold or a treasure map, or a 100 year old bottle of cognac, and they create an agreement where the last person alive gets the prize.

Our Tontine could be like a case of wine that either ourselves (if the society grows up in our lifetimes) or our descendants (if not) get together and get stinking drunk on the wine to celebrate the eventual creation of the Equal Society.

11. A lot older than that!
So where do we set it up?

Cognac ages better over decades than wine, contrary to popular belief. Or it could be Scotch, which just gets better the longer it sits as well.

Let's see who else would like to be involved, and suggestions for the prize, shall we?

3. My dear CorpGovActivist!
I'm thinking I'd better warn your dear Patrick!

These are nefarious plans, sweetie! :scared:

And, like yourself, I look forward to the hopefully not too distant day when you can be married too!

5. If I'm stuck there at his bedside, I'm gonna be playful and hopeful...
... and the pictures and video of what we did to him while he was asleep will be extra incentive for him to get back on his feet.

Or, God willing, it never comes to pass; the big lummox is healthy as an ox, and it would have to be one helluva blow to his hard head to put him under.

Oh, he knows. I tell him some of the things I've thought up. His family is in on it, too!

; )

How are you today, my dear Ms. Peggy?

8. Take lots of pictures (both real and mental)...
... and share with us when you get back, my dear Ms. Peggy!

My body insisted we were still in a sleep deficit, and passed a balanced budget amendment.
