Am I the only one who just ain't a Beatles fan
I mean sure, I like some of their songs and I suppose as someone who collects music I have some of their CDs and most of their stuff on Vinyl.

But I just have to say this - I'm just not that into the Beatles

Am I alone?

9. I've always felt like Kashmir was one of the weaker songs
of their big hits. It always seemed to lack some of the raw power that the songs I really like have.

13. Nah, they're probably my favorite band
But your post does pretty much describe how I feel about another big band:

>>>I mean sure, I like some of their songs and I suppose as someone who collects music I have some of their CDs and most of their stuff on Vinyl.

But I just have to say this - I'm just not that into Led Zeppelin>>>>

:hide:

(And I'm just picking on you, LynneSin, 'cause I know they're your favorite band. But that really does describe about how I feel about them.)

15. I can take or leave the Beatles
I have a lot of their songs but none of them are my stand-out favorites.
Also I have a natural hate for boy bands, which they were, no doubt about it :puke:

But they were my Dad's favorite band so that gets them pretty far with me, their songs always remind me of him.

I like a harder sound than they had, but Lennon-McCartney were much better together than on their own.

26. To a large degree
to understand why they were/are so popular you had to be there when they first arrived on the scene. For one thing, the harmonies were different than anything else, at that time. :) Therefore they sounded so unique, now of course we know it was just a slight shift in the chord progression but still, I think you had to be there to really understand what it was like, what happened and what it is like now. Oh wait, wrong forum for that last comment! :)

33. Damn, you all must be really young
If you lived through the 60's you'd understand why they are one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, rock band to ever put words on plastic.

Now, as for Zeppelin - biggest posers around. Take Willie Dixon and his friends, steal their songs, pretend you wrote them and then play "the bluze". The only thing worse than Zeppelin then would be (gasp!) Zeppelin now.

"and she's buying a motorized stair chair to the bathroom...'

Christ, at least when Page was in The Yardbirds (a criminally under-rated band, BTW) they at least gave proper writing credit.

34. The first boy band
My big sisters were 12 and 15 when the Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan. They had all the records and played them constantly.

So for me it was anything BUT the Beatles. So I got into the Stones and Led Zep. Then Jethro Tull, Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc.

Anything but the Beatles.

I can listen to some of it when I'm in the mood, but I think McCartney obviously has no talent. Now Lennon and Harrison, they were a totally different story. They were the talent in that band...definitely.
