My 6 year old daughter has a better social life than I do.
She is currently at a birthday party (which started at 9:30 this morning. When she gets back, I will be taking her to another birthday party which starts at 2:00.

5. who schedules a b-day party at 9:30 am?
:wtf:

You're a better mom than I am. There's no way I would have taken my daughter to a party on Sunday morning. I get two glorious days per week to sleep in and I'm not giving that up for cake and screaming kids.

6. sometimes if you're having it at a place thats the time you get, we went to one at a bowling alley
that started at 10:00am, "10:00am, what in the hell" but that was the only time slot the parents could get.

9. Exactly
I think, if I had a spare 300 grand, I would open one of those places up, since the charge for a party is about $350 even before the food. Average 10 parties on Saturdays and Sundays and up to 15 more during the weekdays...One certainly would not get rich doing it but here in the land of supposedly high levels of disposable income and parents that want to spoil their children rotten...

8. One of my daughter's classmate's parents...
The party was at one of those indoor bounce house places. They only do one party at a time there, so they may have not had much of a choice for times.

This is the second party she been invited to that has been around 9 am on a weekend. The other party was at the cheap movie theater. The parents had rented out the entire theater and the kids had movies, popcorn, soda, cake and hotdogs. The theater only does the parties before the scheduled showtimes.

10. I think bday parties are getting out of hand
Abby has been to the bowling parties, laser tag parties, girl spa parties, bouncy place parties...all expensive and ridiculously elaborate. Is this for the kids or are the parents trying to out party the other parents?

All they have to do is go up to another six year old and say "Will you be my friend"?

20. I hardly see my 13-year-old anymore
She comes home from one visit or sleepover and then is on the computer plotting the next.

I know this is age-appropriate and I'm glad she has friends, but I miss her!
