You might want to make sure you double check your dryer before turning it on. Cats have been known to get in there and try to take a nap and get killed that way. It's usually horrendous too. So, be careful.

he alternates between licking me or biting me hard


rarely does he let me pet him


he purrs when sucking his blanket but not when I pet him

He's trying to groom you! And kittens bite hard in play! I would think he perhaps thinks you are a big hairless cat! Give him time with the petting. He just needs to get used to it I think. Sucking on the blanket sounds like he was taken away from his mother too early. My kitties were feral and for awhile they would play with a toy, but petting was something they weren't particularly comfortable with. Now, they are both loves and adore being petted and scritched.
BTW, my Sophie before she was comfortable with petting loved to come charging into my bedroom in the morning, burrow under the blankets and bite and scratch my legs..My vet said she was treating me like another cat....

18. I call it "cleaning"

when my black cat comes to sit with me she always cleans me a little before she settles down.
When they're cleaning each other they bite too, so it's really love he's showing. But kittens will sometimes keep up the biting/playing if they aren't taught not to, my best friend is raising his first cat and he's always saying NO BITE! to teach the kitty to stop.
Anyway blah blah! Just know he's CLEANING you lol.. it's real love, or my cat thinks I'm filthy.
