Need input from Chicago area DUers re: reputable ebay or
craigslist seller helpers.

I tried to list something on ebay. They said I violated their rules and suspended me. I appealed successfully for reinstatement. However, ebay refuses to tell me what I did wrong. They said it's proprietary information. WTF?

Anyway, I know there are companies out there who list your sale item(s) for a percentage. If anyone can recommend someone, let me know. Thanks.

1. What did you try to sell?

I used to work for them and they would rarely suspend a seller on the first warning unless it's a banned item. Usually a seller gets several warnings and their auctions are ended before they're outright suspended.

2. Time share
Thanks for responding.

Before I did anything I went to the on line help. I was assured I could sell my time share using the auction format. I didn't want to pay for a listing.

5. No problem
I wonder if time shares come under this rule: "Selling an undivided interest in a land real estate property is not permitted. An undivided interest is defined as a partial interest by two or more people in the same property."

Of course, I don't know what your auction said, but they should have sent you an ended email with a link to what rule your auction was ended by. And again, I rarely saw them nuke an account on a first offense, unless it was something like child pornography. It wouldn't make sense that they say it's "proprietary information."

I used to work in what was called "the ended queue" and would try and help sellers adapt their auctions to eBay rules, as long as they weren't selling a banned item. There were always reps who would jump the gun and end something that was perfectly fine, and this used to really piss me off.
