What foods do you absolutely despise?
Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 08:02 PM by AspieGrrl
I hate steak. I haven't eaten beef at all in about 5 years, so I haven't had that one in quite some time.

Also I totally hate cottage cheese. The texture actually makes me gag.

 oh and beets, for some reason I cannot stand those either, it must be the flavor. :P :silly:

21. Brussels Sprouts can be done well
Sliced thin, lightly steamed, with salt and butter. I think most people's issues with Brussels Sprouts stems from the fact that they, like all of the mustard/cabbage group can be cooked to death and will turn yellow and mushy and have this horrifying stink that smells like baby diaper.

12. oh yeah
i've tried to learn how to love eggs...or at least stand them...sometimes i can eat a poached egg if i mash it up with some hash browns and gravy...but still, not much luck there

hot dogs...well...i've grown kind of ambivalent toward those abominations and will eat them if i absolutely have to (which, thank gods, is never)...but yeah...i still pretty much despise them

They have the worst texture of all veggies. :puke:

After that....corned beef, liver, and pork rinds. All barf-worthy.

16. Any seafood of any kind, almost all Mexican food.
If it comes from underwater, keep it the fuck away from me. As for Mexican food, I can't handle anything other than a taco that I make myself, where I can control what goes on it and how much. I have never eaten at a Taco Bell and never will.

Also: bleu cheese dressing, duck meat, venison, tofu, raw tomatoes.

18. Uni, aka Sea Urchins, Beets, Cilantro
Most everything that people have listed I would guess is due to bad preparation.

23. Reptiles, (especially turtle) and this blueish paste that a Saudi promised me...
...was the best stuff to dip the chicken into. It was long long ago when a Saudi Arabian friend cooked up a traditional Saudi meal for a small group of us Americans. It was served on a large ornate silver platter which was set between us. We all ate from this platter as there were no individual plates. The platter had lots of rice and chicken, some rabbit and a variety of things I had no clue as to what food group they originated from. One of the unknown items was blueish-purplish paste. If I recall it tasted remarkably like clorox. Our host claimed it was for the chicken but none of us Americans could eat the stuff. Every thing else on the platter was pretty good and I enjoyed the experience.

25. Peanut Butter Cookies
I love creamy PB and just about every other kind of cookie (Without peanuts), but combine the two and it makes me want to wretch.

The same goes for peanut butter cereal. I can't stand nut mix with peanuts or cashews.

All that and sweet relish
