Poll question: If you wrote a romance novel about your “Immortal Beloved” and it was to be published…
Would you let your “Immortal Beloved” read it first? Let’s say you are friends with this person and have been for many, many years. However, you harbored in your heart a deep love that you never let be known. You write a book about this and although it is fiction, it is based on your relationship with your IB and easily recognizable, although you have used different names. So do you go ahead and publish it or do you let your IB know beforehand and permit that person to read it?
________
"Immortal Beloved" was the name given by Beethoven to the woman with whom he was greatly in love. Immortal Beloved's identity remains unknown

4. But you would be using fictitious names so no one would know who you're writing about...

The only two people who would know would be you and your IB, if you wanted that person to know...

on edit: I was just wondering if it would be courteous to let that person know before the book came out so there would be no awkward surprizes...

2. Does it have to be unrequited?
Can your IB be your SO?

3. "Unrequited" and "unknown"
"Unknown" until the book comes out, anyway, then the "unrequited" part could go any which way...
