Tonight on Tap at Tavernertavern: A Twofer! Hair of the Dog Fred and Arroant Bastard Oaked

What can I say? HOTD Fred is an awesome barleywine with something for everyone. Sweet yeasty goodness gives you sour apples and raisin notes, the hoppy bitterness gives you a classic throttle on your tonue, and the tannins from the aging in oak barrels gives you an oakey flavor that sticks around. Yum!

Stone's Arrogant Bastard Ale is one of my all time favorites - and their Double Bastard and Oaked editions are as good and (I hate to say it) even better. Imagine, all of the full flavored punch from Arrogant Bastard and add some tannins and mellow out any rough edges (as if there were any)

I bought it as a bit of a novelty and to my surprise found out it was a tasty little beer

I freakin' love that stuff!!

And I hear that in the East Coast they are deprived of such nectars!

No amount of Dogfish Head can make up for the joy that is a 22 oz bomber of Arrogant Bastard!!!!
