6. You deserve it for that!
It's just too damn hot down here for you to tease her like that. :-)

We only got up to 97, but our heat index was 113. Gotta love that Gulf humidity.

5. Heres why
Look at the temp map.

http://www.wunderground.com/US/Region/US/Temperature.html

Now look at the Jet stream Map.

http://www.wunderground.com/US/Region/US/JetStream.html

Notice that the jet stream is the exact cutoff of the hot air from the cool air.

8. It's weird
Here in the D.C. area we've had the best summer I can remember for low temperatures. Really it's only gotten up to 90 a couple of times this year. I'm turning off the AC every night since the first of August - and I live in an apartment so there's no cross-ventilation. The nights are going down to 70 - 65 every night. The days are in the mid-eighties - this week I've been on vacation so this is beautiful. I've been out at the pool every day and just loved it. I don't know who got our usual insufferable July-August weather but I feel for you but please don't send it back.

15. Try my favorite mid-summer heatwave buster...
Pop in a movie like "Never Cry Wolf" or "White Fang" or a nature documentary about polar bears. Shiver whenever you hear the wind howling.

Make a mug of cold chocolate milk and stick some mini marshmallows in it. You can pretend that it's so cold that the hot chocolate won't stay hot long enough to melt the marshmallows.

To cool you:

25. It's only been in the 80s here, BUT
the dewpoints have been in the mid-70s, which means stifling humidity. Swampy air you can't breathe. But I think I'll take that over 108 degrees. Yuck!
