This roommate/house mate shit is really getting on my nerves.
When she moved in I said she could do 2 loads of laundry weekly and she pretty much followed that for a while. But the last couple months she has been walking from her part of the house, across mine and into the garage God knows how many times a day.

WTF is she doing? I'm in my bedroom now and since I started writing this she came over again. I wonder if she was taking my food, (like yogurts and sports bars).

I told her yesterday morning that there were too many flies getting into the house from the garage, (which is true) and could she not keep opening and closing the door.

I feel like I want to wait until she is gone and go over there and look for my shit.

(She just came over AGAIN) I also have the recycle bins in the garage and I've seen her walk across to throw a small amount of papers into it. But considering her side is a mess I don't understand why she would be concerned with one small group of papers.

She's got a load of laundry in now and I wrote it down. I'm going to keep track as much as I can for the next week.

But I don't know how to talk to her. She is just a college kid.

:nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke:

why do you care if she's walking around? Is there a line of tape down the center of the house that she's not allowed to cross?

Also, what's up with the "2 loads of laundry per week"? Why only 2 loads? Personally, I do more than 2 loads a week. That seems arbitrary and controlling.

Frankly, the whole, "I'm going to write down every move she makes" thing is CREEPY.

If you think she's taking things, just ASK. If you wonder where she's going, ASK. She's a college student, not an invalid. Speaking English would probably work just fine.

It sounds like you're ascribing motives that most likely don't exist.

5. I guess I did not emphasize or make clear that she is a house mate.

Or more like a tenant. We are separated by a metal door. She comes in a private entrance, she has her own kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. I don't know why I've called her roommate - I think I want to sound fake-ly humble to tell the truth. Anyway the only reason she should be coming into my side of the house unless she just wants to talk and be friendly is to use the laundry. I certainly do not barge into her side all the time. I put her mail right past the door on a table and walk out.

The reason I said 2 loads a week, (after that $5/load) is I have had people abuse the washer and dryer like she is. I personally do not run the washer unless I have a full load to save electricity and I hang what I can to save electricity with the dryer. I had one guy who was washing the clothes he wore that day EVERY DAY!

I said in another thread about weird things that happened to you that I lived with a dead guy for days. Well it was this situation. I barely saw the guy so I didn't know he died until the smell alerted me. I felt strange about posting that afterwards because I thought no one would believe me and they would think I was a kook.

So to have someone coming from their side back and forth several times a day and not knowing what the hell they are doing is disconcerting. I think sometimes she comes over because she does not know I am home because I park my car in the garage so she brings something for the garbage, (she also has a garbage pail in her kitchen and bathroom) just to see if I am home.

3. It Sounds Like Everything She Does Bugs You
You have some pretty strict rules. Maybe you just aren't up to having a roommate.

8. you actually have flies this time of year?
that's amazing, considering how cold it is here.

But, yeah, people are hard to deal with. Unless it's somebody I know really well, I'd like to have a locked door separate me from a housemate. But I might be cool with a college girl

9. I live in Florida. The flies are in the garage. I don't know why there are
so many in the garage but I think it is just because there are lots of bugs around here period. And if you keep opening the door and/or letting it stay open the flies come in here.
