6. The sweet silence of an empty office.

The cubes around me are dedicated to sales pukes and transients. I think there's no one else on this floor of the building on Saturdays, other than the security guard out in the lobby.

For about a half-hour this morning, I was listening to a customer tell me about routes he's not learning via EIGRP, until I figured out that he's just stomping them with his own internal announcements. Took a while to prove it to myself, then a bit longer to show him how to prove it to his own satisfaction using his topology table. I see one successor route (from another of his sites) on my edge router, as I should, but he sees two, and is naturally preferring his own back-door route.

He'd been up all night worrying about this problem, and is now on his way to a fix and a relaxing weekend. I love turning frowns upside down.
