Spring is in the air ****PIC HEAVY****
... at least in Germany. It was such a beautiful day yesterday and I went to a garden here in Frankfurt. They had a spring flower show, so I took some pictures (not only flowers though). "Some" means up to 300 but I deleted about half of it at home. Here are some samples:

field of spring flowers

Snowdrop

crocus

another crocus

tulip

field of tulips

hyazinth bud

hyazinth

some close-ups

Hope you enjoyed it and are feeling the spring :D

The close-ups were fun to shot. I am still learning, but I think I took some good ones :)

5. Oh you make me yearn
for spring with these fantastic pictures MissH! I see that you are enjoying your camera.

Oh and those tulips! I just may have to go to the floral shop and buy me a bunch!

Everything here is covered under piles and piles of snow, with more predicted tonight! :(

7. I didn't think spring started this early in Germany
I live in Ohio and we've probably got another 3 weeks or so of winter weather left. Nothing will start growing for another month.

As always :) Makes me want to do cartwheels with joy ;) Were you at the Palmengarten? I went to two gardening centers with Babs to look at flowers Saturday - doesn't cost entrance ;)

14. Yup, Palmengarten
after looking at the flowers I sat at the lake in the sun and enjoyed the gorgeous weather.

I don't mind paying entrance, it helps keeping the garden well maintained.

15. Of course, I don't mind either.
But at the garden centers it also happens quite often that something jumps into our bags B-) I bought violets yesterday.

;) But in earnest, I'd very much like to have some portraits, I have hardly any pictures of them in old age. We'll have to wait for the summer fur, though.

17. I love em MHC!
It's not quite spring here, but you just gave me spring fever preparation. Maybe when it hits this year I won't feel like hopping in the car and driving one way until I spend 1/2 my money and turning around :)

Thanks for these :)

19. I never know where
I just grab the camera and anyone who wants to ride and take off. I've not ventured far in the last few years, but I've been known to disappear for a month or so and end up several states away before I turn around.

I'm thinking I'd like to spend some time in the Northeast (upstate NY- Boston- etc.) I also have been wanting to kayak across the Mississipi for the last few years. I'd be more likely to do St. Louis and south because the cost would be more in my range.

Unless I hit lotto... then I'll do both and hop a freighter to Europe :P

I can dream....

:hippie:

21. I just like the way they talk up there
and the architecture is cool up there. I'm a people watcher and really enjoy cultural differences.

I used to have a dream of kayaking from my house where the New River heads out here in my county to the Gulf of Mexico. It wasn't the 1,200 miles that scared me so much as the fact I'd need 2-3 different types of kayaks and need guides for some of the trip.

Doesn't this look fun though?

Like I said.. I can dream hehe.

23. So far I've been mainly to the South
and I keep going back because I have friends there and I love it. But it is time that I get to know other areas of the U.S.

Another big plus of the NE States is that lobster is cheap there :)

Those paddlers sure are skilled :wow: Are you one of them?

27. Hec no! I wish.
I'd be a leary of doing that without much more experience. That is calm compared to many spots that would be on my path to the gulf. I think there are a few spots in West Virginia that skilled whitewater kayakers do not paddle through.

It would cost hella to be able to do the trip proper without mad skills. I'd have to hire a guide and a helocopter hehe.

:P

33. Mostly vegetables
But around the outside of the garden fence I'll probably plant some type of flower. Last year it was mostly marigolds. They lasted the whole Spring, Summer, and Fall, so I may go with those again.

40. You know
it also sucks if there is winter and no snow. I wish we had a real winter in between again. Cold and snow. Then the looking forward to spring is even bigger.

43. yes, I can understand that.
We have just had so much snow. Cabin fever has set in so long ago (small house, 3 young boys ). The cost of heating our home has set us back so far that spring can't some soon enough. We have been hanging on by a thread. I don't like winters without snow either. The snow at least is pretty to look at while it is cold. My boys don't last long out in it though. I can't wait until it is warmer again and they can go out and run and play!
