The Girl Next Door ~ Have you seen it?
http://imdb.com/title/tt0830558/

Based on the Jack Ketchum novel of the same name, The Girl Next Door follows the unspeakable torture and abuses committed on a teenage girl in the care of her aunt...and the boys who witness and fail to report the crime.

Am I confusing this with another movie of the same name? Is this based on a true story?

6. *Spoilers*
Watching is a must, just be ready to be kicked in the gut with feelings..., 3 December 2007

Author: from United States

This movie disturbed me to my very core. The acting is superb. The plot is very engrossing. Everything about this movie screams unbelievably well done and the makers of it should be extremely proud. This is the first Horror / Thriller were I actually felt for the characters. This is certainly the best film in its genera. This is also the reason why I wouldn't recommend watching it to most people... Watching this gives you a feeling as if you just accidentally killed your pet (worse actually)... It is far more horrifying then anything I have ever seen and the script makes it come to life which makes it even more terrifying....

If you are looking for a horror movie and don't have heart problem then watching it should be a priority just expect to feel horrible afterwards...

9. I just watched it
the movie is based on the novel, which is fiction but based on the true story. There is a movie about the true story which includes the trial. It's called an American crime or something like that with Catherine Keener as the abusive woman and Ellen Page (Juno!) as the girl who gets abused.

10. Thanks. That is what I was looking for.
I have not watched it. Is it disturbing as I heard (and this from someone who "loved" faces of death).

11. I didn't find it as disturbing as the "saw" movies or "hostel"
it doesn't show the actual torture as much as a real horror movie would. But they are abusing young girls so that could be disturbing.
