And the best feedback is that my classes are now taking their note-taking seriously. They're asking for the note-taking paper I designed that is a large grid of twelve, and it helps them sort through and organize their learning.

I'm making headway, and have been told I'll probably get a continuing contract for the next school year :bounce:

And yesterday another student told me that for the first time he is remembering all the steps in solving the problems...and today he was the only one that recognized that certain problems could be simplified even further...and he did it!
This is a student who has multiple physical and neural disabilities, and is in a wheel chair.

He's really shining!

I taught for many years at the elementary level, mostly SpEd K-6.

Now am teaching Algebra Readiness and Pre-Algebra SpEd grades 9-12.
Tougher audience, but so many times still much like the little ones in terms of maturity.

They wear me out, but their progress rewards me so much!

I said that exact same thing to my college algebra professor. I finally passed that subject when
I took his class, after three tries in two other colleges. Although I did drop one of those classes.
He smiled at me and I think he was pleased to hear that too. He gave me a B+. ;)
