1. Making assumptions about another person's behavior can make you crazy

Don't get me wrong. I don't even like, much less love, most of the single middle-aged men I meet, so I understand how it feels to find one who is really interesting and attractive. There's a tendency to get really nervous and uptight and give up the wrong vibes.

Still, it's quite possible that you didn't do anything wrong. It's possible that the supposed compatibility was wishful thinking on your part and that he realized that he was wrong for you.

If he had been right for you, nothing could have kept him from calling you.

Sometimes dating is just miserable. That's why I am no longer looking.

2. I changed that because I just heard from him

I was creating a situation in my head that didn't actually exist. I do that sometimes. Fortunately most of the time I tell no one so no harm done. I have to figure out how to just chill.
