Foods and books to make you stupid
Edited on Sat Mar-01-08 02:16 PM by WileEcoyote
Small prize to those who correctly guess what "food" item this is...

Ingredients Enriched Corn Meal (Corn Meal, Ferrous Sulfate, Niacin, Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, and Folic Acid) Corn and/or Sunflower Oil Salt Cheddar Cheese (Cultured Milk, Salt, Enzymes) Buttermilk Solids Whey Maltodextrin Romano Cheese from Cow's Milk (Cultured Milk, Salt, Enzymes) Monosodium Glutamate Whey Protein Concentrate Onion Powder Sugar Corn Starch Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil Modified Food Starch Dextrose
Spices Disodium Phosphate Jalapeno Chili Pepper Garlic Powder Natural and Artificial Flavor Artificial Color (Including Yellow 6, Yellow 5, Blue 1, Red 40) Citric Acid Malic Acid Lactic Acid Disodium Inosinate Disodium Guanylate Nonfat Milk Solids.

Yup Americans are one dumb species. The concept of intentionally consuming these items all contained in one bag is mind boggling!

However it gets worse. What about the ingredients NOT listed on the bag? Things likes a whole host of pesticides, chemical fertilzers used to grow the crops. That and the Fluoride and Chlorine on the tap water used in the mix. And a ton of other trace amounts of chemicals associated with the motor vehicle and machines used in making/transporting the "food".

Laboratory rats have been bred for three generations eating just the normal food Americans eat. Stuff like packaged cereal, milk products, diet and regular drinks, meats, some vegetables, bread etc. All processed foods made from commercially grown plants and animals.

What was the result? By the third generation ALL the rats were sick.

Now let's look at some of the reading material you will see at Safeway or other supermarket while buying food at the check out line;

Modern Bride
First
TV Guide
Glamour
Vogue
National Enquirer
Cosmo
Anything with Britney on it

Lest people think I'm being too hard on the women consumer:

Motor trend
Car and Driver
Hot Rod Magazine
Muscles
Any gun magazine.

I put periodicals targeted for girls and women first simply because these magazines take up the most important shelf space in any given clothing store. The men's magazines are available in many stores but you have to actually walk over to the rack to find then. They will not rest near the cashier. Not even in a convenience store like 7/11. This doesn't make women any less or more smart than men. My guess is that people are about equally stupid according to gender. It is just that women will BUY more of these things than the men. Perhaps they have a higher resistannce to prolongued exposure to these articles.

Marketers know this. Got it down to a science. And thhsi isn't including all the jive romance novels on the shelves of the store etc.

Reading and comsuming this junk on a regular basis will definitely make a person stupid.

1. Haven't picked up a glossy
mag in 20+ years.

The only thing I subscribe to with any consistency is National Geographic.

it shows.

What gets me are all the people who DO buy these things...

Scary! A fertile ground for future republicans
