24. It was weird.
Edited on Sun Mar-02-08 02:30 AM by Forkboy
It just puffed up like a bubbled potato chip years ago. We took him to the vet and they said they could in essence pop it, or it would just go down on it's own. They said it made no difference either way and that it wouldn't bother him or affect his hearing at all, and with money being nonexistant that sounded fine to us.

Besides, it gives him character. :)

Actually, Frisco was the one that had the painful experience. A coyote had his head in it's mouth and broke the upper roof of his mouth, a long split straight back, and tore his lip down over his chin. Amazingly the tough old coot pulled through, but he was a bloody mess. That's why his nose has a bit of a bend in it.

Poor Frisco, I am glad he pulled through. My parents have lost three cats to coyotes. I keep telling them not to let their cats outside.

53. lemme tell you..
whether or not you'd had the vets try to work on it it would have turned out just the same. Tonka's ear puffed out that way right when we were moving from GA to VA so since he was so healthy we didn't even take him to a vet, it just healed funny and Tonka didn't seem to notice. But then the same thing happened to our oldest cat Jake (why us? who knows?) so we took him in for a checkup and ended up paying a lot for vet time and for surgery to pop it and sew the flaps (:puke:) back together and it healed exactly the same, and Jake lived happily for 3 or 4 more years, he was like 18 when he died.

So it only gives them character!! :headbang:

But wait, I just remembered!!! We did have to have expensive surgery done on Tonka to open up the canal in that ear, because an infection happened in there once and it nearly killed him I think.. it was very scary. I'm sure Cheesy will be just fine always, but anyway that's Tonka's whole story- what seemed like nothing ended up costing a lot anyway.

52. Thanks I think so too but I'm biased
:D Zaphod (Mr. Z) is a lot like Frieda's cat from Peanuts - the boneless cat. He loves to be held in almost any position (which can be a challenge given his 15 - 16 lb size) but especially up on your shoulder. Trillian is a bit OCD and gets into a kneading trance when she finds some bare skin. She's about 1/2 her brother's size. They are both very affectionate - I guess we're good parents :). They'll turn 3 this year.

64. I agree
The kittehs have great taste in reading material. Hubby hated reading in high school and me being the devoted girlfriend(at the time) read both Wurthering Heights and The Scarlet Letter to him. Fast forward about 10yrs and he suddenly found Fantasy books. He's been going strong for about 13 years now and reads constantly. He even got me hooked on the genre. Goes to show everyone could enjoy reading if they find the right type of book.
