Thanks to you Loungies... and an update about my daughter.
I appreciate the moral support (no, not morel, morans!) I have received from all of you. My daughter thankfully was not admitted to the Children's hospital. We got home at about 3AM. I could not get to sleep until about 5:30 because I was so keyed up.

My daughter slept most of today. She did not eat anything until a few minutes ago when she had some mac and cheese (her request). She is awake right now, breathing well and her fever is manageable (around 100, rather than bouncing between 102 and 104).

Her oxygen saturation when we got to the hospital was around 92% and when we left it was around 94%. Normal is 99-100% and they get kind of concerned when it dips below 95%. I have no idea what her sats are at right now, but I do know her breathing is better.

I am doing my best to get as much rest as I can, since I have a compromised immune system, but I have started to catch something from this. I have started the dry hacking cough. I will be okay, and if I even start to run a fever I am going right in to the doctor. Not messing around since I catch pneumonia really easily.

My ability to think clearly has been somewhat limited over the past few days, and if I have hurt anyone's feelings, please accept my apology.

5. Good for you!
Sometimes, we just have to take a time out, and say, screw all the supposed "have to's" in our lives. Sometimes, we need to take some time for us.

2. My dear KitchenWitch!
If anyone should not be apologizing for anything, it's you...

We all should be so clear and lovely when posting as you are, all the time!

I'm really glad your daughter is better...

Now my concerns are all for you, sweetie...

I know you're taking care of yourself, but...

Let me know if there's anything (and I mean anything) that I can do!

3. I will, Peggy.
I have a whole bunch of prepared ahead meals in my freezer (my big pots of chili, soups, etc) so if I do not feel like cooking I can send my husband in there to dig something out. Having a large freezer has really been a life saver for the times when I am too sick or in pain to do anything.

20. She just got home yesterday
and she hasn't really grieved yet. She carried all of her mother's stress all weekend. And her mother is a bigger worry wart than my sister, and that's saying something. She worked herself into a migraine.

I'm worried about her, naturally. Thanks for asking. :loveya:

18. wow! I missed all this. glad to hear she is doing better.
not sure what all I missed, but I've dealt with the low oxygen saturation in my daughter and that's no fun. we brought home a nebulizer after an ER visit and only on rare occasions have to give her it now. she might have asthma but maybe not.

is that what you are dealing with, or was your daughter just not getting the oxygen because she is sick?

how scary. take care.

27. Glad to hear she's doing better! And that you're going to take it easy, too...
it is all too easy to get exhausted and ill when caring for a child/loved one. Nothing wrong with renting a few movies and just kicking back for several days and resting!
