Did you meet any Storm Troopers yesterday? BECAUSE I DID. (pic!)
Edited on Mon Mar-03-08 10:20 AM by janesez
My husband and I went to see "Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination" yesterday at the Franklin Institute.

http://www2.fi.edu/exhibits/traveling/starwars/

I must say we didn't care too much about the "science" part of it, heh (they explained how new technologies are making possible things you previously had only seen in Star Wars and other sci-fi movies) but they had full-size X-Wing fighters and land speeders and Chewbacca costumes, and C3PO - with and without his gold metal covering. They had Yoda, and Han Solo's costume, and let me tell you, Natalie Portman is TINY, because her costumes from Episode I would have fit a 10-year old child. It's a really cool exhibit, and we came home last night and started watching the movies straight through from The Phantom Menace on (ugh, JarJar). We are geeks. :D

6. There were like a million storm troopers there!
They had them stationed on the stairs outside, all through the giant entrance hall, and throughout the exhibit itself. They were really nice. :D

8. A million "nice" stormtroopers. See, that's what happens
when you bring mandatory steroid testing to the forces of darkness.

9. There were lady stormtroopers, too!
Did they have lady stormtroopers in the movies? The one to my left, on the right in the picture, was a lady. Very friendly. :)

10. oh, sorry, I thought you meant the other type of Storm Troopers and figured the thread was already
Godwinned.

You'd have thought they would have cloned someone who can actually fire a rifle and hit something/someone with it.

15. In Phantom Menace, there are like 23 times Liam Neeson turns his back
to Darth Maul, when Darth Maul could have sliced him in half (I mean, before he actually does). Hell, *I* could have won that duel.

My son asked what they were doing. I said (loudly) they're with the Salvation Army... they don't like gay people. He was just fine with moving along.

20. I am not a Salvation Army fan either.
They used to have AA meetings at Salvation Army shelters/rehab facilities, but AA is not aligned with any particular religion and when they refused to use the words "Jesus Christ" or put Christian prayers into the meetings, the Salvation Army kicked AA out. :wtf:
