There's a stream and several tributaries running through my basement
Edited on Tue Mar-04-08 01:21 PM by lizziegrace
It looks that way as the water is flowing in. More than half my drive way is underwater. The pasture is flooded, drainage ditches overflowing and more rain on the way.

Just hope the sump pump doesn't fail and/or the power doesn't go out.

I've lost 3-4 boxes of stuff stored down there as of the morning. I have no idea what I'll find when I get home.

2. frustrating as all heck isn't it?
I've got some water in my basement too. 61 degrees yesterday melted everything, then the added rain last night and snow this morning. I hear we have some more snow/freezing rain headed this way. Are you getting all rain?

3. I work in Franklin County
right now it's all rain. The weatherunderground.com site posted a winter weather advisory until midnight for Delaware County (where the farm is located). I knew it was going to be bad when the pasture was flooded yesterday before the rain even started. (Lots of snow melt from the fields.)

Stay dry and safe.

6. We have an advisory too, along with a flood warning
The river is already over its banks here. Hope it's not a repeat of the last time, several homes were flooded on that one.

Good luck!

4. We're dreading what our basement looks like when we get home
Just like you, we have an old farmhouse. We've seen more than a foot of water down there before.

5. Same thing in mine - the bad thing is my sister has her bedroom down there
I had to leave work to help clean it up. Loads of towels and gallons of water later, it looks like it's drying up...for now. I hope you can get home to check on yours soon.

12. Lots of moving things around
you never know where the next "spring" is going to pop up. It's seeping up from under the concrete in the basement now.

I'll be home in an hour or so. I'll let you know.
