I love Whitney and Celine, but c'mon, are they the only artists these women know? :argh:

And again, song choice means so much. Ramilie (sp?) has a powerful voice, but her song choices don't show it off.

Actually, I thought pretty much everyone sounded terrible tonight, with the possible exception of Syesha.

And that county singer wouldn't be missed much, either.

I was kind of disappointed with Amanda tonight. That Irish girl, Carly, has a great voice, though.

4. I started high school in 1980

and somehow I have forgotten that all 80s music was slow, crappy ballads. My failed memory remembers kind of overly peppy music sung by people with really big hair. Why did the producers not allow those songs on the show?

6. I used to like that show a LOT.

It sort of fell apart for me when Carrie Underwood won, who I thought was boring and pointless. (She has improved since turning pro, but still not my cup of tea, really). Bo Bice should have won. Ever since then I've been ambivalent about it, except I did like Taylor Hicks, Katharine McPhee and Chris Daughtry. Last year was an abomination - the only singer I liked was Melinda Doolittle and she came in 4th or something. I just can't get into it this year. I did see it last night and I thought one of the Davids was really good, I can't remember his name though.
