Texans: Just 'cause it's snowing it does NOT mean the roads are icy!
Okay, so it's been pouring rain all day- suddenly it turns to supersnow- wet, humongous flakes flyin' all over da place. I have to cross town in it- I get on the tollway only to find a billion psycho redneck Texans DRIVING 20 MPH through it. People, not only is it WAY above freezing, but it's HOURS before the sun sets! Not to mention the heat being generated by all the cars traveling over the pavement- the road is NOT gonna ice up on you and you are NOT gonna spin out on it (unless I push you outta the way).

Hell, no WONDER it was so easy for an idiot like *bush to get elected here- he really IS the most intelligent one of the bunch!

Texans. Sheesh. Learn how to drive, eh? Either that or when it clouds up simply park it and let the rest of us get by you- WE have things to do!

End of rant. We now return you to your regularly scheduled psychotic behavior.

(I'd go to the grocery store this evening but no doubt all the shelves have already been stripped bare by consumers panicked by the thought of being snowed in for the next month....)

1. I could rant on and on and on about Houston drivers
and I've lived here all my life! ;)

I've watched people slam on their brakes when it started sprinkling. That's just plain old rain, never mind ice and snow. Luckily, we don't get that often enough to have to deal with it. And yet, pea-soup fog where you should be driving 20mph and they're still going 70! Ever heard of 100-car pileups y'all?

I've noticed this change in driving ability in the last couple of decades. I can only think of two reasons for it, one being how the Texas DPS has dumbed-down the drivers' test and the other could be more undocumented folks behind the wheel. I have listened to some reasoning about that on the local liberal station (KPFT) that due to being undocumented, their driving habits lean on the overly-cautious side.

Of course, there is still plain stupidity to contend with from all drivers, in all kinds of precipitation. It takes an accident to teach some of them.
