Great bands who inexplicably always have terrible videos?
One of my old favorites, Front 242, just can't seem to make a decent video. Sigh. Do any of your favorites lack good taste only in their video content?

1. I don't think Front 242 tries to make good videos.
Most of Ministry's videos suck, too

2. You're right. They're either having fun at our expense or just can't get it together

which, considering their composition skills and sound design and mixing, is ridiculous.

Check this thing out, it's funny but oddly so:

3. I think it's just their style. I mean
have you seen the video for "Headhunter" (a/k/a the stupid egg video), which is arguably their most successful song commercially?

4. I think that you're right, but I don't get "why". Am I misunderstanding their music somehow?

Am I being too serious?

5. Not enough colors and quick-changing camera angles.
Think about it. Perfect example, New Order's "True Faith" was a bizarre little show for a mediocre song. But, it did the MTV thing and had 10,000 camera angles and lots of colors.

Unfortunately, the video exposure (or lack thereof) keeps lots of folks from experiencing good music. I think many bands (like Front 242 and the aforementioned Ministry) do it on purpose, sort of a "piss off" to the industry, whereas the Sigue Sigue Sputniks embrace it because they really dig the attention.

I think they see making a mainstream video as a possible sellout. I mean, stick a couple babes in bikinis, roll an H2 with spinner rims and one could sell anything.
